Celebrity couple Mako “Roadhog” Rutledge and Jamison “Junkrat” Fawkes have married today in Canberra, following the recent passing of marriage equality in Australia.
The couple, who have been prominent gay rights campaigners since they rose to fame with the release of Overwatch in 2016, were wedded in front of a crowd of at least 200 guests, including other queer Overwatch members Tracer, McCree and Bastion.
“I couldn’t be happier. He’s always sayin’ I’m the best haul he’s ever got on a heist, ain’t that right, Hoggy?” Fawkes said during the reception. Unfortunately, Rutledge’s own speech was inaudible over an impromptu firework display that left at least three guests with injuries.
While the Junkers were, understandably, unavailable for comment the evening of their ceremony, hotel staff were forced to apologise for noise disturbances.
