Today is a big day for Rainbow Six Siege. It’s the start of a brand new season, bringing with it new maps, new operators, and lots of new changes to shake up the game.

However, it’s also a time of loss. A time for endings. It’s a time to say goodbye to Operation Health’s rock-hard nipples.

For months now, R6S has been going through a series of game-fixing and reworking patches in a scheme called Operation Health. Emphasis was placed on improving the game that was already there over adding more new stuff, and so things like hitboxes and matchmaking were all dramatically improved.

Except that doesn’t matter. What matters is the splash screen for the game during Operation Health was this guy and his 100% erect nipples poking through a thin vest. Accompanied by quiet, solemn music, it was downright surreal that the road to a frankly excellent tactical shooter was paved with er… mountainous nipples.

Except that’s all changed, as Operation Blood Orchid, the first phase of the new season, has finally refreshed the splash screen. Gone is Mr. Titty and his two friends, and instead we have that blood-red amusement park, representing the newest map in the game.

Farewell, boys. You will be missed.

Joe is LPVG’s resident hardware nerd. If it’s overpriced and has gaudy RGB lighting, he’s probably drooling over it. He loves platformers, MMOs, RPGs, hack ‘n slashers and FPS, with his favourite games being Mirror’s Edge, Left 4 Dead, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Oblivion and Dead Space. Don’t ask him about his unhealthily large Monsters Inc memorabilia collection. Seriously, just don’t ask…
