The open beta test for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands’ Ghost War will be available on all platforms between September 21, 2017, and September 25, 2017.

To get ready, the beta for the upcoming PvP mode can be downloaded from September 19, 2017, and as it’s stand-alone, you don’t need the base game to give it a go. Cool, eh?

“In Ghost War, two groups of players will take part in a four-versus-four (4v4) team deathmatch experience that builds on the tactical squad play from the main game, where strategy is equally as important as skill,” says developer Ubisoft. “Teams will choose from a roster of varied classes across three categories – Assault, Marksman and Support – that fill specific roles on the battlefield as they navigate large-scale open maps and take down their enemies.”

The beta, which brings new PvP mechanics, including suppressed fire, will give you chance to try out six of the twelve “distinct” classes – each one touting its own individual weapons, perks, customisations, and characteristics – and five of the eight maps.

More will be revealed in a live stream on September 19, 2017 (5pm UK time) at twitch.tv/ubisoft, and if you’re really keen, you can tune in from 1pm UK time for “four hours of content featuring special guests”.

Joe nominated Ghost Recon: Wildlands as one of his favourite games of 2017 so far. What would you nominate?

Short. Sweary. Sarky. Streamer. Spartan. Story-driven games make me happiest. Spectacularly bad at shooters, but loves them. Screams a lot playing horror games, but loves those, too.
