If you’re trying to squeeze that last little bit of juice out of Star Wars Battlefront before Battlefront 2 drops in a few months, EA’s giving away the season pass for free on every platform.

The season pass includes four expansions to the multiplayer shooter: Death Star, Outer Rim, Bespin, and Rogue One: Scarif. In terms of content, that translates to 16 extra maps, eight new heroes, four new game modes, and “over 20 new pieces of galactic tech”. Lightsabers and shit.

Oh, and there’s an exclusive “Shoot First” emote.

On PC, you can grab the season pass through Origin (or, if you’ve not got the base game, the Ultimate Edition for £4.16.) On PS4 you can get it through the PlayStation Store (assuming you’re a PS+ subscriber), while the Microsoft Store is what you need if you’re on Xbox One.

I’m not at all a Star Wars fan, but the couple of hours I spent with Battlefront were fun. It’s absolutely gorgeous and does a good job of creating the scale and atmosphere people love Star Wars for. It’s got a few problems, but for next to free I’d say it’s worth a look.

Joe is LPVG’s resident hardware nerd. If it’s overpriced and has gaudy RGB lighting, he’s probably drooling over it. He loves platformers, MMOs, RPGs, hack ‘n slashers and FPS, with his favourite games being Mirror’s Edge, Left 4 Dead, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Oblivion and Dead Space. Don’t ask him about his unhealthily large Monsters Inc memorabilia collection. Seriously, just don’t ask…
