If leaks by Charlie Intel are to be believe, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered may finally be getting a standalone release… today.

The leak shows boxes for the game, which until now has been tied to a special edition of last year’s Infinite Warfare. It should include the remastered editions of both the single-player and multiplayer of 2007’s Modern Warfare, often considered to be a high-point of the series.

More interestingly, Charlie Intel also claims that the physical remastered copies are due out today, June 20th, 2017. It received documents from an anonymous source showing retailer documents listing the street date, or the earliest a game can be on shelves, as “06-20-2017”.

So, anyone up for a bit of surprise Modern Warfare 2016? The game’s standalone release hasn’t been formally confirmed yet, so platforms (other than PS4), price, and features are currently unknown.

Joe is LPVG’s resident hardware nerd. If it’s overpriced and has gaudy RGB lighting, he’s probably drooling over it. He loves platformers, MMOs, RPGs, hack ‘n slashers and FPS, with his favourite games being Mirror’s Edge, Left 4 Dead, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Oblivion and Dead Space. Don’t ask him about his unhealthily large Monsters Inc memorabilia collection. Seriously, just don’t ask…
