Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is coming to Xbox One and PC on March 7, and a physical release for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on the same day.
After an initial launch back in 2011, the game was finally brought back from the dead in early December with a surprise PS4 launch, in an effort to garner interest in the MvC series ahead of the upcoming MvC: Infinite.
According to Capcom, the game will cost $24.99 digitally on both platforms (as it does on PS4), and the physical console edition will be $29.99. That extra $5 gets you a free MvC comic too, with art from Marvel artists Gerado Sandoval and Sean Chen.
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is pretty gosh-dang excellent. It makes use of some more obscure characters on both sides of the fight (hell, it had Rocket Racoon years before Guardians of the Galaxy was popular), and the game itself is flashy, fast, and surprisingly technical. The PS4 version left a lot to be desired though, as it doesn’t make use of legacy arcade sticks like Street Fighter V and it made no improvements to netcode or balancing.
The PC and Xbox One versions will benefit from being able to use older sticks just as inherent parts of the platforms, but I can’t see much else being fixed. Not that it matters though, it’s freaking Mahvel, baby!
