Emails received by Let’s Play Video Games suggest that items on my wishlist are currently believed to be “on sale”.

These emails, which were sent by an anonymous source, show nothing but a list of games that appear to have been placed on some sort of discount. Research through Steam appears to confirm the rumours, as the games listed are both on my wishlist and also on a discount.

This report appears to come from part of a major leak in Steam’s systems, as we have received, as of writing, 17 different emails, all listing different games that are cheaper now than they were only a few days ago.

Interestingly, all the games in these emails are ones on my personal Steam wishlist. Whether this is a targeted campaign against LPVG, or one that is affecting more users, is being ascertained at the moment. It seems like too much of a coincidence that unconnected games like Legend of Grimrock 2, Bastard Bonds, Owl Boy and Dead by Daylight can be in the emails, on sale, and on my wishlist at the same time, though.

We will update this story should we gain more information. Have you received emails about games on your wishlist being on sale? Please let us know.

Joe is LPVG’s resident hardware nerd. If it’s overpriced and has gaudy RGB lighting, he’s probably drooling over it. He loves platformers, MMOs, RPGs, hack ‘n slashers and FPS, with his favourite games being Mirror’s Edge, Left 4 Dead, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Oblivion and Dead Space. Don’t ask him about his unhealthily large Monsters Inc memorabilia collection. Seriously, just don’t ask…
