Konami has announced a dedicated eSports league system for PES 2017.
The competitive mode gives players access to the PES League eSports and “official” ranked matches.
“As the PES series continues to go from strength to strength, we are exploring a number of ways to build its reputation within the eSports sector,” said Jonas Lygaard, Konami’s senior director of brand and business development.
“Later this year we will be integrating the hugely popular PES League element as a dedicated mode within PES 2017 and future iterations, allowing organised competitions to become easily accessible to absolutely anyone owning a PES title.”
PES 2017 is out on September 15, 2016.
Last week, Liverpool Football Club announced it had partnered up with Konami’s PES series. The partnership means that the 2016/17 Liverpool squad will be “fully licensed and faithfully reproduced”, along with all official kits, the Anfield stadium, and the sound of the crowd chanting “You’ll Never Walk Alone”.
A Konami spokesperson recently announced PES 2017 on PC will not be based on the current-gen versions of the game, warning players not expect it to be the “same level as PS4/XBone”.
