Square Enix has announced Final Fantasy XIV has had over six million players in three years – and that’s not even including the players dipping their toes in via the free trial.

Patch 3.35 – which boasts the Deep Dungeon: The Palace of the Dead – has recently rolled out. In teams of up to four, you can explore the new “unprecedented adventure” which is set to be the “first of many planned content updates”.

The new dungeon will feature randomly generated maps, dozens of floors. All participants kick off at Level 1 with an all-new progression system.

Tempted? To give it a whirl for free, your account must not have been active for more than 30 or more days when the campaign begins.

Short. Sweary. Sarky. Streamer. Spartan. Story-driven games make me happiest. Spectacularly bad at shooters, but loves them. Screams a lot playing horror games, but loves those, too.
